Trent Bennett is a driven and disciplined force in both public safety and the world of competitive shooting. As a full-time Deputy Fire Marshal, he investigates structure fires and serves his community with precision, integrity, and expertise. But beyond the uniform, Trent is a passionate competitive shooter, certified instructor, and mentor dedicated to elevating the firearms community. Through every shot, session, and conversation, Trent Bennett lives what he teaches — always Equipped for Life.

Trent’s firearms journey began in 2020 for self-defense during the uncertainty of the COVID-19 pandemic. That decision sparked a deeper calling — one that led him to become an instructor, a former firearms club president, and co-founder of Equipped Community Defense Training & Tactics, where he trains civilians in firearms safety, tactical movement, and situational awareness. He is also a certified USCCA instructor, blending real-world experience with practical training.

Trent entered USPSA (United States Practical Shooting Association) competitions in 2023, competing in a handful of matches before returning in full force in March 2025. Self-taught for the most part, Trent studies the sport through hands-on learning, occasional classes, and detailed match reviews on his growing YouTube channel. His training is built around live fire sessions, supported by dry fire practice, with a focus on speed (60%) and accuracy (40%). Known for his lightning-fast trigger control and double taps, he primarily shoots a CZ Shadow 2, with a Sig P226 X5 Classic as backup.

His proudest competitive moment to date is a second-place finish at a local match — a testament to his steady improvement and tenacity. Off the range, his mental preparation includes working out, staying positive, and minimizing distractions. He believes success is built on a foundation of discipline and faith.

Trent proudly represents Team Blacksmith, helping increase visibility for underrepresented voices in the shooting community. He sees his role as both a competitor and ambassador — wearing team gear, creating content, and upholding the team’s values of excellence and representation in every aspect of life.

Above all, Trent is a devoted husband and father to twin daughters — a #GirlDad who balances family, fitness, faith, and firearms with relentless focus. His advice to aspiring shooters is simple: do your research, get mentorship, master the fundamentals, and step out in faith. There’s no perfect moment — start now.
